Like fish in water. Barça Femení thrash Tacón in the capital by 0–6 and with 20 opening minutes that were already enough to get a 3-goal lead. Oshoala, after having a great impact last week coming off the bench, earned a place in the starting XI and today she proved why. FOUR goals from the Nigerian striker, recently named best African Women’s Player of the Year, as she delivered a spectacular exhibition in Madrid.
Oshoala now has 14 goals in La Liga (two matchdays ago she only had 8), while Jennifer Hermoso, who found the net too, has 16. They lead the race for the Pichichi, which has Blaugrana colours this year. Between Asisat and Jenni they have a combined 30 goals, which is the same as Atleti, the second most goalscoring team in the Primera Iberdrola.
Right-back Marta Torrejón was the other goalscorer, and she already has an amazing 5 goals in all competitions. She has 7 assists in La Liga too, and continues to showcase an incredible reading of spaces to attack down the right flank. In the second half, Van der Gragt made her return from the injury she suffered against Juve back in September, while versatile new signing Ana Crnogorčević made her debut with the culés and occupied two different positions: first the wing, then full-back.
After the 9–1 at the Estadi Johan Cruyff in matchday 1, now Barça have beaten Tacón on the road in the first game of the second half of the domestic campaign. Tacón looked more like a team in this occasion, but, when the Catalans start controlling the tempo of the match, they are unstoppable. Atlético won this afternoon against Sporting Huelva too, but only by 1–0 at home. Barcelona, leaders with a 7-point gap over the Rojiblancas, are not slowing down.
