What a game!

What a game! Enjoying it a lot, very very fun. Top technical quality from both sides – Fekir, Frenkie…–, a very tactically rich duel, and goals. Unfortunately, every mistake we have made has hurt us 3 more times than normal – loss from Semedo and handball from Lenglet in Betis’ first, and Vidal’s poor control in their second.

Setién’s experiment has been interesting, with Arturo as a false 9 and helping a lot in the pressing. De Jong has largely contributed in the occupation of the attacking spaces too, and for me he has been absolutely brilliant. However, the errors have cost us. We play well, but we miss full-backs to retain possession, a centre-forward, and a hierarchic centre-back. Until the 2–1 it was very even, but then Fekir’s show started – or resumed.

What a player he is. What a shame knee injuries have prevented us from enjoying this level from him consistently. One of the best left foots in Europe, super aesthetically pleasing, and super good. Could have been a top 5 football had he stayed injury free. Playing as an adult against boys in the school playground. Maradonian masterclass from Fekir.

Hope this show is maintained in the second half. This is football.
